An immersive installation celebrating the 800th anniversary of The Canticle of the Creatures, presented across a 650-square-meter projection surface on nine screens.
The Canticle is an immersive video-and-sound installation engaging with The Canticle of the Creatures by Saint Francis of Assisi, marking eight centuries since its composition. The work combines large-scale projection with the voice of Friar Alessandro and an original score by André Ripa, produced by San Francesco Productions with creative direction by Daring House (Stefano Casertano). Designed for seated viewing as a continuous sequence of about thirty minutes, the installation presents the text as a spatial experience, guiding the audience through image, sound, and measured silence.
The project premiered in Assisi at Palazzo Monte Frumentario and is scheduled for presentation at the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli in Porziuncola — Sala San Pio X. Conceived within the anniversary program dedicated to the Canticle, it is planned for further showings at additional venues. The installation is adaptable to different architectural settings and can be hosted by museums, churches, and cultural institutions.
