VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE

TALES OF THE MARCH

Tales of the March is a narrative VR experience that places viewers inside a WWII death march, confronting the landscape, the crowd, and the weight of memory at human scale. Its fictional thread is rooted in a survivor’s testimony and approached with documentary rigor. Developed within the Biennale College VR program and financed by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the work was selected for the Official “Venice Immersive” lineup at the 80th Venice Film Festival (2023). The piece blends cinematic staging with nuanced spatial sound to sustain a sober, respectful presence in the scene while preserving historical fidelity.

Alongside the durational 360° film, visitors can enter an exploratory exhibition environment featuring curated materials—historical documents, photographs, and recorded accounts—gathered in collaboration with museums and archives from around the world. In Italy, the project is distributed by Rai Cinema and has been showcased at the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, among other cultural venues. By combining an intimate story with a rigorously sourced context, Tales of the March encourages reflection, dialogue, and learning well beyond the headset—making it a strong fit for museums, festivals, and educational programs.
